Preliminary site work at a waterfront parking lot in downtown Miami will represent the start of construction on SkyRise Miami, a 1,000-foot-tall observation tower. The placement of 3 pilings ensures that the developer can maintain height approval from the FAA before it expires in the middle of next month.
SkyRise Miami will include observation decks, nightclubs, a bungee jump platform and a flight simulator attraction. The R-shaped, glass and steel tower is planned for a parking lot currently leased from the city by Bayside Marketplace. SkyRise Miami hopes to sublease the 2-acre waterfront lot, pending a public vote. Vertical construction on the tower will not commence until it is approved by the Miami City Commission.
Downtown Miami is seeing a surge of new construction. The Miami Worldcenter, One Thousand Museum and SLS Lux are also planned for the area. For more information on downtown Miami real estate, contact Niki Higgins at +1-888-242-4422 or +1-954-817-2500.
